Based on a unique vision to help those facing the challenge of Alzheimer’s disease, ASEB is incorporated.
ASEB opens its first Alzheimer’s Day Care and Resource Center in Berkeley. It serves an average of 15 participants a day and provides respite for caregivers.
A second Alzheimer’s Day Care and Resource center opens in San Leandro, providing space for 35 participants a day.
ASEB inaugurates its award-winning door-to-door transportation service. A program to educate in-home workers about the special needs of dementia clients accepts its first students, and eventually expands to meet the training needs of residential home employees.
ASEB is recognized as a leader in the development of an expanded care model for individuals with dementia. San Leandro campus adds Adult Day Health Care Program license.
ASEB purchases a larger building in Berkeley and renovates it as a state of the art facility specifically designed to provide a therapeutic environment for those in mid-to-late dementia.
Berkeley campus adds an Adult Day Health Care Program license. ASEB’s campuses are able to welcome 60 participants a day.
ASEB’s new Alzheimer’s Resource Center (ARC) Project pioneers an innovative service program for those in early stages of dementia.

Moving from its San Leandro Center to a renovated campus in Hayward, ASEB doubles day care capacity at the site and increases the combined number it serves at both campuses to 80 people each day. The new campus also offers expanded space for education and training programs.
ASEB initiates“Family Support,” a care management program that provides caregivers with a single resource to assist in the creation of a comprehensive, long-term family care plan.
ASEB acquires Summit Hospital’s Adult Day Health Care Program and increases its own capacity to 120 people per day across all of its centers.
