ASEB Service Provision Summary 2006/2007

Mission:
The mission of Alzheimer's Services of the East Bay (ASEB) is to enhance the quality of life of those affected by Alzheimer?s disease and dementia by providing specialized areas to individuals with dementia, caregivers, and the larger community. ASEB promotes early intervention and prevention of inappropriate institutionalization by assisting each person with dementia to reach his/her highest possible level of functioning and by offering extensive support to caregivers.

  • Provided therapeutic and supportive activities to 256 program participants.
  • Provided 14,571 breakfasts; 20,305 lunches and 14,817 snacks.
  • Performed 92 home visits initiated by ASEB's social workers.
  • Facilitated 77 support group sessions that were attended by 170 individuals in the community.
  • Supplied 13,637 van rides, assisting those families who were not able to transport their participants to and from the day program.
  • Delivered 4,379 hours of physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
  • Provided education and resources for 2,182 individuals through health fairs held within the community.
  • Responded to 403 information and referral requests via the telephone.
  • Informed 3,185 individuals in the community with information about adult day health services, training opportunities, and resources via the mail.
  • Received 1,873 hours of service from community volunteers.
  • Gave and received thousands of hugs!
