Programs and Services
The mission of Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay (ASEB) is to provide services to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions of memory decline; provide support for their families and caregivers; educate and inform the community about issues related to this specialty of care.
For Our Participants: Adult Day Health Care Programs in Berkeley/Oakland/Hayward
ASEB offers 3 Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) programs currently, at centers in Berkeley, Oakland, and Hayward. The respected Robert Wood Johnson Foundation chose ASEB as a “model” Adult Day program for its nationwide Partners in Caregiving Demonstration Project.
We are proud to offer comprehensive, high-quality day programs for working families and caregivers who want additional support during the day. This is a gratifying support option for families who very much want to keep loved ones at home and actively enjoying a full life. Participants are provided an enriching, supportive and safe community in which they are contributing, valued and respected members.
We maintain a high staff to participant ratio (at least 1 trained staff member provides direct care for 5 participants). Our programs are State Licensed by the CA Dept. of Health Services.
For Caregivers: Education & Support, and Early-Stage Program
ASEB Education & Caregiver Support Programs offer caregiver support groups, specialized education and training to assist caregivers and care providers, and information or referral to additional services.
The ASEB Early-Stage Program provides programs and support groups for clients and their families coping with the “early-stages” of diagnosis.
For Our Community: Education, Training & Ideas
Ask ASEB to speak with your group or provide training! Our professionals and families are committed to sharing our knowledge, solutions and expertise with our community. As our population ages—not only families, but businesses, health care providers and public policy-makers—all struggle to solve these intensified challenges. ASEB can enhance our community’s capacity to understand and provide for the unique needs and care options for individuals with Alzheimer’s or related conditions, as well as to support those of us now called upon to give care. Generous community support sustains us, and in turn, we are delighted to give back.
